Your child’s writing studio

What if your child
wrote a real book,
and you could hold it?

Your child plans, drafts and illustrates their own chapter book in a private studio. A coach asks good questions and never writes a word for them. When the last chapter is done, you order a printed copy from inside the app, and a book with their name on the cover arrives in the post.

Nothing happens without you

About five minutes a week: read a chapter, say yes to a picture, and one day order the book. This is your workspace on the day you sign up. Every switch starts off.

Writing, planning, uploads and the basic checks work with AI switched off.

Never send these words to the AI MiloFennel StreetYear 4
  • What you list never leaves. Every request is checked for contact details and the words above before it goes anywhere. A hit is blocked and your child is told what to change.
  • The provider keeps nothing. Zero data retention on every request, and your child’s own drawings are never sent at all.
  • Stored in Australia. Everything runs in Sydney.
  • No feed, no followers, no sharing. The only audience is the one you print for.
  • No adverts, no analytics, no tracking. This site runs no scripts but its own.

Questions parents ask

Will my child actually write?
More than you expect, once the words are theirs and a book is the end of it. Nobody is marking anything. A younger child can start by answering questions, or by saying it out loud; the studio writes down their words, never its own.
Isn’t this more screen time?
It is screen time that ends as a book on a shelf. There is nothing to scroll and nobody to perform for; the screen is a page, and the page comes off it.
Does the AI write the story?
No. The coach reads a passage and asks a question or suggests one thing to try. It never writes or rewrites. With AI off, the studio still runs basic checks on words and sentences.
What does it cost?
Writing is free for every child in the family, with no time limit. A printed book is priced for your book when you order, before you pay: the size, the binding and the number of copies set it. The AI coach and pictures are optional and run on credits a parent buys as they go.
Is it safe for children?
No feed, no followers, no sharing; the only audience is the family. AI is off until a parent reads a statement of what is sent and agrees. Words the parent lists are checked before every request and block it. Providers keep nothing. A child’s uploaded drawings are never sent to an AI. Everything runs in Sydney.
Who approves the pictures?
The parent. Pictures wait in the parent workspace; only approved ones go into the printed book. The writing never waits: it belongs to the author.
Can families outside Australia order?
Quilljar is built for Australian families and prices in Australian dollars. Families elsewhere can email us; printing and posting overseas is by arrangement.
Does it work on an iPad?
Quilljar runs in the browser on an iPad, a laptop or a Chromebook, with nothing to download. On an iPad, open app.quilljar.com in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen: it gets its own icon and opens full screen, like an app.
